scams.dev is an independent research website. It is built to collect as little information about you as possible. This page describes what is collected, why, and what your rights are.

What this site collects

  • Contact form. If you use the contact form, you provide a name, email address, inquiry type, and message. This is delivered to us as an email through Resend, an email delivery provider that processes the message in transit (see Resend's privacy policy), and used only to respond to you. It is not stored in a database on this site, sold, or shared.
  • Spam protection. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish humans from bots. Turnstile is operated by Cloudflare; see the Turnstile privacy addendum and Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Analytics. This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first measurement tool that does not use cookies, does not fingerprint devices, and does not track you across sites. We see aggregate page-view counts, not individual visitors.
  • Hosting logs. The site is served by Cloudflare Pages, which processes standard server logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver and secure the site.

What this site does not do

  • No advertising, and no advertising trackers.
  • No third-party analytics beyond Cloudflare Web Analytics.
  • No cookies set by us.
  • No sale or sharing of personal information, for any purpose. This site has not sold or shared personal information and does not plan to.
  • Fonts are self-hosted; no font CDN sees your visits.

Newsletter

The newsletter is delivered through Buttondown, which processes your email address to send it. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link; using it stops future emails immediately. To request deletion of your address from Buttondown's records, contact us and we will submit the request.

Your rights

You may request a copy of any personal information we hold about you (in practice: your contact-form emails or newsletter subscription), or ask us to delete it. California residents have these rights under the CCPA; we extend them to everyone regardless of location. To exercise them, write to us through the contact form. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.

Children

This site is a research resource and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
